"When Misty Eyed was born, I immediately knew how special she was. She was always right in your face wanting attention. I got to start riding her and showing her after her two year old year in Youth Western Pleasure. We didn't;t branch out and start showing in the all-around events until 1990. I learned a lot over the next year, not by being guided by trainers in different disciplines, but by watching the ApHC's best youth and amateur riders. I set my goals for myself and now that I look back, I couldn't have achieved any of these accomplishments without Misty Eyed.

We had a different kind of bond then most of the other youth/horse competitors. This is because we raised her and she was not purchased for me to ride. It was a very cool experience to learn everything with her from the beginning. This may sound silly, but I didn't just set goals for myself. I set goals for Misty Eyed as well. I wanted her to join the ranks of the great All-Around Appaloosa Horses, such as Princess Rockhawk, Country B Riker, Echo's Surprise and Heza Classy Dandy. I believe that Misty Eyed has achieved her goal."
